In big-game saltwater fishing using size #40 or #50 leader systems, what typically causes the leader to snap at the knot or along the main line? In most cases, it is due to abrasion against the reef, contact with sharp teeth, or material fatigue resulting from a prolonged fight.
T.P.III is a newly developed polyamide fiber (a material also used in products like toothbrush bristles). While sacrificing some linear tensile strength, it resists permanent elongation under high-tension drag—retaining its original shape—and achieves superior cut resistance and ultra-low water absorption (one-tenth that of conventional products) thanks to its ultra-hard surface created via the new ALK manufacturing process.
